If you are a client of Peak Solutions Ltd, we will explain to you how we handle your personal information, for example, when you fill in an application or claims form or when you provide us personal and financial information as required to provide you financial advice. You should always read these documents carefully.

If you are not a client of ours, we collect, hold and use information about you for the purposes for which you provided it.

You do not have to provide your personal information to us when requested. If you don’t, we may not be able to provide you with the product or service you have required, or monitor a product or service you already have in place with us.

We collect personal information about you as required to provide you financial advice, provide ongoing service in relation to that advice or to respond to a contact request from you.

We only use your information for the reason it was provided to us. If you have requested contact through our website, the information will only be used to contact you. This information will not be retained in our database unless you are an existing client. If as a result of this contact you want to engage our services, we will provide you further information about how we will use and store your information.

We do not share any contact details you provide through our website. If you are a client, or want to become a client, our further Privacy Act information about who we share your information with will be provided to you at the time we gather your personal information from you. We do not sell your personal information to any third parties.

Your personal information is held on our behalf by data storage providers, including cloud-based storage providers who implement and uphold stringent security practices. The key processes we use to keep your information safe are:

  • Only Peak Solutions financial advisers and staff, authorised contractors and regulators (such as the FMA) are enabled to access the personal information we hold about you
  • We have a comprehensive IT security system which is managed by our external expert IT provider, this includes patching, alerts and antivirus software to protect information we hold.
  • We use a recognised password vault to protect our passwords and ensure they are strong, secure and changed regularly.
  • No customer related data is stored on local drives unless the hard drive is encrypted and the information is backed up in the cloud or on another encrypted hard drive.
  • Where possible access to systems is logged in case auditing is required.

We may use cookies when you are on our website. Cookies are small blocks of text stored on your device. They allow us to recognise you (or rather, your internet browser) as you move around our site, and if you return to our site later. Cookies cannot read your hard drive or command your computer to perform any action.

Cookies may be used for security to help us identify you, to provide you with personalised features and for tracking traffic on our site. We do not collect and share with third parties through cookies. Any information we collect and share with third parties through cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous (when shared with third parties, it does not include personal information which is likely to identify you).

You have rights of access to, and correction of, personal information held by us.
